Lilith (Black Moon) calculator

In astrology, Lilith or the Black Moon isn't a physical body: it's the point in the Moon's orbit around the Earth that lies farthest from the Earth (the apogee). SENKRONASTRO calculates the Mean Lilith, the most commonly used form.

Calculate your Lilith

Free, no account needed. Nothing you enter is saved; it's used only for this calculation.

Your birth date alone is enough for the sign. Enter your time as well and we'll show you which house Lilith falls in.

Mean or true?

Lilith has two calculation methods. True (osculating) Lilith can deviate from the mean position by up to 30 degrees because of short-term fluctuations in the Moon's orbit. Mean Lilith, on the other hand, is the average of those fluctuations and moves steadily: it crosses a full sign in about nine months.

If you see a different sign on another source, it's most likely using True Lilith. Both results are correct according to their own definition.

Do you need a birth time?

Mean Lilith moves about 0.11 degrees a day, so your birth date alone is enough to find its sign. If you also enter a time, the calculator shows which house Lilith falls in on your chart; like the rising sign, the house depends on the exact time.

What does Lilith describe?

In modern astrology, Lilith is associated with suppressed or excluded traits, setting boundaries, and themes of independence. Lilith has no place in classical astrology; it's an interpretive layer that became widespread in the 20th century.

This is an interpretive framework; it is not a scientifically validated measure of personality.
